With a piece of chalk (or several), a black wall and no restrictions, we invite creatives to let loose on our lobby chalkboard. Next up is Amsterdam-based photographer Nanda Hagenaars (1988) with her personal portraits.
Nanda has been photographing fulltime since quitting her office job in 2016. Her work can be described as romantic and poetic but with some rawness. In her portraits she wants to capture people’s real character. “I try to document their soul”.
So when Nanda met the girls on these photo’s during a night out in Amsterdam, she instantly knew she wanted to capture them. “In their most beautiful, feminine way, but stripped from the decor around them. In their make-up and outfit, but without the ‘show’. It’s about the purity of the characters. These 3 portraits translate that”, says Nanda.
